Many folks ask me “How are you able to update & manage your RSS & Social Networks ” One way is through Google Gadgets, Klipfolio or Yahoo Widgets via your desktop or web page.
The above video focuses on the desktop applications, these are available as web applications. They allow you to personalize and customize your widgets & gadgets. While the weather and email apps are great, I really find benefit in having my
RSS and social networks like
Facebook, Youtube &
Twitter on my dashboard.
It helps keep me a quick snapshot of everything without logging on to each site.
I really like storing them through Yahoo or
iGoogle because as a web page, they are much more portable. I do not need my laptop, USB drive or anything. Just my user ID & password.
Check them out. They are available for both PC and Mac as desktop clients. Let me know what you think and which applications you find most useful.

The prediction of many Social Media Guru’s out there is 2009 will be the Personal Brand Gold Rush, and I agree. With more users getting on Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and other Social Networking mediums; there will be large audiences who are graving for niche contents.
Those who establish their niche brands first will become the dominate brand in there field like Google is to the search engines. We see it in the Wine World with Gary Vaynerchuk, one of my internet heroes, of Wine Library TV, in Internet News with Joanne Colan of Rocketboom and several others.
It’s easier than ever to establish blogs, audios & videos. The web tools & softwares are out there to do it in a cost-effective way. The question: Will you let the Personal Brand Gold Rush pass you by? Or will you find your niche & capitalize on the Gold Rush?

The next wave of social networking is geo-social networking. Loopt has a great app to be able to know where you are and where all your connections & friends are. The video shows the app for iPhone but is/will be available for all platforms. You may have a client who you would never know is at the airport at the same time as you. You can catch up with a friend who is around the corner who you been wanting to catch up with. It will allow you to get more face time and make the hi-tech experience hi-touch where we can make a deeper & more personal connection.
Question is when will Facebook, Twitter, & Linkedin join in the party?
