Social Networking is a Virtual Cocktail Party

Social Networking (Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace & others) are like a virtual cocktail party. They are very similar. There are many similarities. There are etiquettes, invitations, & themes. The biggest point in both is the discussion is happening with or with out you.

The question is “Which ones do you want to be a part of ?” If at all. This video talk about many of the similarities. Ultimately it was said best by my friend Jim Roman “It allows for a personal connection.”

Social Mobile (Mobile Social Networking)

Many folks ask me “How are you able to update & manage your social media so quickly?” One key way is through my mobile devices. Yes, that’s plural.

I carry both a Blackberry Pearl & a iPhone (I have actually cut back a phone or two, my Windows Mobile ran out of juice too quickly). One is better for particular apps and I just type so much faster on a Blackberry. All these Smartphone have mobile apps for your major players like Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, Plaxo and many others. These mobile apps allow me to post pictures, updates, and even video to my networks. I even have a WordPress app now for my iPhone so I can write a post on-the-go.

There is so much you can do these days with a Smartphone. It is a must if you are on the go and want to keep up with your social networking. Check out the video. I show you some of my apps I actually have on my phone.
